Resumen
El Gavilán Mixto (Parabuteo unicinctus) es un ave rapaz diurna perteneciente al orden de los Accipitriformes que se destaca por su comportamiento social complejo y su plasticidad para habitar una gran variedad de ambientes, incluyendo aquellos altamente modificados por la actividad humana como los centros urbanos. En este trabajo describimos dos registros inusuales de individuos juveniles realizando maniobras de agarre y manipulación de estróbilos de pino (Pinus sp.). Estos hallazgos representarían el primer reporte de este comportamiento de manipulación de objetos inanimados para la especie y aportan información relevante sobre el posible aprendizaje y desarrollo de habilidades de depredación en sus estadios tempranos de desarrollo.
