Abstract

The Long-tailed Potoo (Nyctibius aethereus) occurs in the northern part of Misiones Province in Argentina. Within its range it is a rare species, and in Argentina, its reproductive biology remains totally unknown. During 46 days we followed a nest of Long Long-tailed Potoo in the Iguazú National Park, Misiones, Argentina, and we observed and photographed how parents incubated their eggs and took care of their offspring. This article constitutes the first report of the species’ breeding behavior in Argentina.
