Abstract
The Southern Antpipit (Corythopis delalandi) is distributed along the Austral Yungas in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. In this work we report 16 new records for the species in Salta and Jujuy. These records, mainly obtained during the wet season, were collected by 1976 point counts (N = 10) and occasional observations (N = 6). Our results suggest that Southern Antpipit is uncommon in the area. Furthermore, our records highlight the importance of carrying out new studies contributing to our knowledge on this species abundance and biology. Updated information of Southern Antpipit, an uncommon and unknown species in Argentina, is necessary for designing management and monitoring programs.
