Abstract

This work reports the first record of a successful breeding event by the Rufous-Rumped Seedeater (Sporophila hypochroma) in Santa Fe province, Argentina. The observation took place between December 2024 and January 2025 in the San Wendelino area of the Las Colonias department. We describe the nesting site within a livestock-grazing area, nest-building behavior, and territorial defense. Finally, our work updates the reproductive status of the species in Argentina.
