Seabirds are key indicators of ocean ecosystems, yet knowledge of their distribution in the Beagle Channel, Le Maire Strait, and Isla de los Estados remains limited. From November 11–13, 2024, systematic surveys were conducted aboard the A.R.A. “Indómita”. A total of 22 species and 10,497 individuals were recorded. Diversity was highest in the Beagle Channel (H’=1.183), intermediate in northern Isla de los Estados (H’=0.7747), and lowest in Le Maire Strait (H’=0.1485), dominated by the Sooty Shearwater (Ardenna grisea). Significant findings include a Westland Petrel (Procellaria westlandica), an Endangered species with very rare occurrence in Argentine waters, and a strong concentration of Magellanic Diving-petrels (Pelecanoides magellani), suggesting a potential breeding site. These records provide new insights into seabird diversity and abundance in one of the least-studied regions of the southern Argentine Sea.
