About the presence of Sporophila palustris in the Gualeguay River basin, Entre Ríos, Argentina

Abstract

The Marsh Seedeater (Sporophila palustris) is a globally endangered species. In this study, we present records from four consecutive seasons, updating and expanding the known distribution of the species in Entre Ríos province, particularly in the Gualeguay River basin. The presence of suitable habitat for the species, along with confirmed records within the basin, indicates that this area is important for the Marsh Seedeater in the province. As such, this region should be considered for further research and conservation efforts.
