The presence of the Ochre-faced Tody-Flycatcher (Poecilotriccus plumbeiceps) in the Chaco region was stated more than 30 years ago. However, the occurrence in the region continues to be poorly understood, ignored, and we do not find consensus in the modern bibliography. Through field work, bibliographic review and searches in online and citizen science databases, we report 25 localities for the Chaco region of Argentina and Paraguay. The concentration of individuals of the Ochre-faced Tody-Flycatcher in the Chaco region is found on the dense riparian and coastal vegetation of the main rivers that arise in the Andes, and cross the Chaco region, such as the Bermejo, the Bermejito, the Pilcomayo, and their tributaries or meanders of ancient courses that are created by these rivers. Contrary to what is indicated by widely disseminated ornithological works, the Ochre-faced Tody-Flycatcher would not be found in the extreme east of the Chaco region.
