Abstract
Sabine’s Gull (Xema sabini) is a species that breeds in high arctic latitudes and, in its non-reproductive locations, is found in tropical and subtropical areas along the Pacific coast of the American continent and the Atlantic coast of Africa. To date, along the Southern Atlantic coast of South America there were only two records in Brazil. Here, we report for the first time the presence of the Sabine’s Gull in Argentina (Villa Gesell, Buenos Aires Province). The individual had a non-breeding adult plumage. Some days prior to the sighting there was a rough sea storm that could have led to the presence of this individual off his usual geographical range.
