Abstract
The Chiloe Wigeon is a species native to southern South America, distributed in central and southern Argentina and Chile, the island of Tierra del Fuego, and the Malvinas/Falkland Islands. In winter, it partially migrates north to Uruguay and southern Brazil and Paraguay. The northern limit of its main breeding area in Argentina is at 36°S. In Santa Fe province, it is classified as a southern austral migrant and is recorded as a probable, undocumented breeder. Here I present the first documented records of breeding and rearing of the species in the southern part of Santa Fe province.
