Abstract
The Ocellated Crake (<i>Rufirallus schomburgkii</i>) was discovered for Argentina in 2020 in Candelaria Department in southern Misiones Province, within the Parana river basin. In June 2024, we recorded the presence of Ocellated Crake in grasslands in Leandro N. Alem Department, Misiones, at more than 40 km south-southeast of the previous records, within the Uruguay river basin. We found seven individuals of Ocellated Crake in two small grasslands of only 32 ha and 9 ha. Just as in Candelaria department, these grasslands were located on slopes with rocky soils and tall grass with no presence of cattle and without invasive shrubs. These are the southernmost records in the global range of the species.
