Abstract
The Pearly-vented Tody-tyrant (Hemitriccus margaritaceiventer) is distributed in several provinces of Argentina, with its breeding range encompassing the provinces of Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán, Catamarca, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Chaco, Corrientes, Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Buenos Aires. In Santiago del Estero, this bird species is considered a resident bird, commonly observed and widely distributed. However, until now, its breeding had not been reported. In this study, we present data on nests and nesting sites of the Pearly-vented Tody-tyrant in a natural area of semiarid Chaco forest in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, which provide insights into the species' nesting site fidelity in Argentina.
